Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our General Adult Psychiatry team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing and managing patients with complex mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with complex mental health needs, including those with a history of trauma or severe mental illness.
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior staff, including medical students and junior doctors.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans.
  • Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.

Person Specification
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
