Position Overview

We are offering an exceptional opportunity for a qualified individual to engage in advanced research within the field of biomechanics. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing numerical simulations of biomechanical systems and validating these models through empirical research. Responsibilities include authoring and publishing scholarly articles, contributing to grant proposals, and collaborating with healthcare partners. The role necessitates close cooperation with colleagues possessing diverse research backgrounds, as well as mentoring current doctoral candidates within the team.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should possess a PhD in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or biomechanics. A proven track record in scientific writing for academic journals is essential. Proficiency in the ABAQUS simulation software specific to biomedical engineering and hands-on experience in experimental methodologies are required. Strong communication skills, both in presentations and scientific documentation, along with the capability to conduct independent research as well as work collaboratively within a team, are vital for this position.

About the Institution

This position is situated within the School of Engineering and Materials Science, a prominent department comprising 70-80 faculty members and an equivalent number of postdoctoral researchers. The school accommodates approximately 1000 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students, alongside 220 PhD candidates, supported by a dedicated administrative and technical staff team of 45. The staff and student community is characterized by its international diversity.
