About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Peer Recovery Trainer. As a key member of our REDS Recovery College, you will have the opportunity to use your lived experience of mental health challenges to support learners in their journeys towards living a more hopeful and fulfilled life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-design and co-deliver training programmes with current patients and staff at St Andrew's Healthcare
  • Build working relationships with patients, carers, and staff, sharing information on your personal journey of recovery from mental health challenges
  • Work within a small team of Recovery College Trainers to deliver training programmes to small groups of patients, staff, and carers
  • Receive ongoing support from within the team and training in how to deliver courses
About You

You will have had experience sharing your personal recovery journey with peers, or be confident in doing so. You will have good communication and people skills, and the confidence to speak in front of groups of people. Your enthusiasm will inspire others to want to engage with our training programmes.

You will be a good team player, but also comfortable using your own initiative. You will be excited by the opportunity to develop a service that makes a genuine difference to people's lives. Experience in secure/forensic mental health services is preferred.

What We Offer

As a Peer Recovery Trainer, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team, making a real difference to people's lives. You will receive ongoing support and training, and have the chance to develop your skills and experience in a rewarding and challenging role.
