Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Food and Health Safety professional to join our team at Gate Gourmet, a leading provider of airline catering solutions and provisioning services. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Food, Health and Safety, and Security procedures are implemented, monitored, and maintained across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement safety compliance standards to ensure minimum legal compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
  2. Audit all areas of operations, including aviation and rail, to identify areas for improvement.
  3. Conduct investigations and ensure necessary actions are taken and communicated, including customer complaints, accidents, risk assessments, and insurance claims.
  4. Analyze accident data to identify root causes and recommend mitigating actions.
  5. Provide reports to Corporate, UK & Ireland, and Unit Management on audit results and trends.
  6. Liaise with legal departments, legislative authorities, third parties, and customers to ensure effective communication.
  7. Oversee and support business initiatives and projects to completion.
  8. Manage food information systems and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Food Safety and/or Health and Safety, or equivalent.
  • Health and Safety Management Certificate (NEBOSH or equivalent) preferred.
  • Significant management experience, preferably in the aviation or food industry.
  • Good understanding of Food/Health and Safety legislation and HACCP.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.

All successful candidates must have the right to work in the UK, undergo a DBS check, and provide 5 years of referencing history.
