About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Scientist to join our team at Taylorollinson Ltd, a leading biotechnology company. As a Scientist in our RNA team, you will be responsible for conducting a wide range of molecular biology-based experiments in relation to synthetic DNA, mRNA synthesis, and gene expression.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting molecular biology-based experiments to support the development of synthetic RNA technologies.
- Supporting a range of synthetic DNA and RNA projects for external collaborators and internal R&D projects.
- Optimizing the DNA to in vitro RNA conversion process and subsequent RNA purification.
- Conducting cell-based assays (luciferase / reporter assays) to evaluate immune response to RNA.
- Planning, refining, and executing experiments that align with overall project plans.
- Working individually and collaboratively within the R&D teams.
- Participating in departmental meetings and development meetings.
- Maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date record of experiments and data/results.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a BSc/MSc in a biological discipline and industry experience in molecular or cellular biology, ideally RNA-focused. They will also have expertise in several of the following techniques: capillary electrophoresis, polyacrylamide electrophoresis, RNA quantification, DNA quantification, flow cytometry, ELISA. Experience in cell reporter assays, cell transfection, and troubleshooting and developing laboratory protocols is also desirable. Excellent communication skills and the right to work in the UK are essential.
