Job Title: Learning Disabilities Healthcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Disabilities Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Thornbury Community Services. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities to live safe and fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

As a Learning Disabilities Healthcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our clients, enabling them to achieve their personal goals and participate in community activities. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized care plans, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring that they are tailored to meet the individual needs of our clients.
  • Work collaboratively with our clinical team to provide medical support and interventions as required.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 12 months' experience working with individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Confidence in performing physical interventions, including restraint training.
  • Experience in supporting individuals with autism, mental health needs, and other complex conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality care and support, with a focus on promoting independence and well-being.
