About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Behaviour Mentor to join our team at Parker Smith Inclusion. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with challenging behaviour, promoting positive relationships and a safe learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement behaviour plans, ensuring the needs of each student are met.
  • Utilize trauma-informed approaches to support students in managing their emotions and developing coping strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures related to behaviour management.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to ensure best practices in behaviour support.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, with a focus on de-escalation techniques.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
