About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Warehouse Manager to lead our Data Warehouse team in the production of Business Intelligence (BI) data loads, storage, disaster recovery, reporting, and outbound data. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing guidance on database management, development, architecture, future design considerations, performance improvements, and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply best practices in data warehouse management, creating and delivering a roadmap for future data warehouse development.
  • Work closely with teams across the company and its third-party suppliers to ensure the efficient operation of strategic information services and the delivery of the overall BI Team roadmap and project developments.
  • Lead the data warehouse team, managing workload and expectations to the business, and work with the team to build objectives and plan in line with the BI roadmap.
  • Represent and promote the interests of the data warehouse team across the business through appropriate meetings around Business As Usual (BAU) and projects.
  • Manage and assist with BAU work and report production, including review and continual development of daily and overall warehouse processes/controls to improve performance and reliability.
  • Lead and manage the team to operate in and across specialist functions such as Data Engineering.
  • Work with the team to deliver best practice database design to meet the requirements of the business.
  • Manage and assist in the integration of new data sources into the data warehouse in a timely fashion to allow reporting and data storage.
  • Drive the Data Warehouse team to deliver solutions that fulfill business information needs and align with the Data strategy and vision.
  • Monitor Azure costs and proactively look for ways to optimize the data warehouse to reduce spend.
  • Be the authority on database architecture and design for current and future development.
  • Implement and maintain access to the data warehouse and databases using Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) principles.
Requirements
  • MSSQL/MS SQL Azure experience.
  • Database architecture and design, including pros and cons of relevant schemas/structure.
  • SSIS, SSRS, SSMS, and other relevant tools.
  • Database installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, backups, and recoveries.
  • SQL Profiler experience.
  • Project Manager experience.
  • Scripting languages, including PowerShell, JavaScript, jQuery, VBScript, BatchScript, and Azure DevOps.
