As a key member of the Food and Beverage division, the Events Operations Supervisor will oversee the daily activities of the team across various event venues, ensuring a seamless experience for all guests.

Key Responsibilities

In this managerial role, you will:

  • Oversee the operations of a bustling event venue, facilitating conferences, weddings, and distinctive gatherings while upholding world-class standards of service.
  • Recruit, inspire, and develop team members to provide an outstanding guest experience.
  • Manage all Food and Beverage systems, including health and safety protocols, electronic point of sale systems, attendance tracking, inventory management, and cash security, ensuring compliance and target achievement.
  • Utilize Management Information (MI) to exhibit strong commercial insight, swiftly responding to performance metrics and ensuring the team is well-informed with clear daily objectives.
  • Maximize revenue to meet financial goals, including monitoring labor costs and Food and Beverage expenditures, handling cash transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to policies, developing standard operating procedures and safe working practices, including food safety systems, while strictly observing health and safety regulations.

Employment Package

This position involves a variety of shifts, including daytime and evening hours for events such as weddings and corporate gatherings. The role encompasses a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, spread over 5 days out of 7 on a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in event operations within a high-volume environment, ideally at a mid-management level in a prominent event venue.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Awareness of current trends in food and beverage and event management, with the capability to benchmark against competitors and propose innovative improvements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and hygiene safety regulations.
  • Exceptional customer service skills in a guest-centric environment.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and target setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with individuals at all levels.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to balance guest expectations with service capabilities while ensuring profitability.
  • Familiarity with effective performance monitoring systems.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in food and beverage operations within a leisure or visitor attraction setting.
  • Relevant vocational qualifications in food and beverage management.
