About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Vacancies. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs, ensuring they receive the best possible education and care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist subject teachers in meeting students' needs by working with individuals or groups of students on a planned basis.
  • Pass on information about students gathered in other contexts to the subject teacher.
  • Work with students who have SEN, disabilities, and/or health needs, providing personal care as required.
  • Act as an extension of the School's pastoral system, providing a listening ear and confidante for students.
  • Support students who are reintegrating into school following prolonged absence, change of school, or exclusion.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant is preferred.
  • A positive attitude and calm manner with the ability to communicate well with others and demonstrate good organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children, the needs of children, and child development.
  • Ability to work with students who have SEN, disabilities, and/or health needs.
