About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical services, and contributing to the development of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with oral and maxillofacial conditions, including trauma, orthognathic surgery, and head and neck oncology.
  • Lead and manage clinical services, including the development of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the education and training of medical and dental staff, including undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Participate in research and audit activities, including the development of research proposals and the publication of research findings.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and to develop and implement clinical services.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and entry on the GMC specialist register in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • An appropriate higher surgical qualification, such as FRCS (OMFS) or equivalent.
  • Experience of leading clinical services and managing clinical teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to participate in research and audit activities.
