NHS Lothian is seeking a skilled Youth Worker to join our team at the Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service (LSRHS). As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people accessing abortion care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver health promotion and education to young people on sexual health, contraception, and abortion care.
  • Provide SHBBV education, testing, or treatment to young people attending the Choices Abortion Services.
  • Engage and empower young people to tackle barriers to accessing services.
  • Work in partnership with local communities to provide outreach services.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic health support.
Requirements
  • Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, or Community Education.
  • Experience of working with the general public and delivering health promotion and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work unsocial hours and travel independently to local clinics.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of working with young people and/or delivering health promotion activities and interventions.
  • Experience of using MI techniques to promote behaviour change.
