Job Description

As a Graduate Electronics Engineer at Ultra, you will play a key role in designing and developing analogue, digital, and computer-based electronic systems to solve complex safety challenges for our customers.

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team and contribute to the design and development of innovative solutions that provide full, long-term protection and control of mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to agree on the optimum solution in terms of cost, timescale, and ease of implementation.

  • Develop and establish a number of customer solutions that meet their specific needs.

  • Analyze specific aspects of existing equipment to establish requirements for replacement or refurbishment.

  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure the supply and support of third-party equipment.

  • Carry out specified design and development work in your area of competence.

  • Support the installation and commissioning of equipment on the customer's site.

  • Presentation of a professional engineering approach to work to support good customer relationships.

  • Support the team's engineering capabilities with individual skill and determination.

  • Develop personal engineering capability across the safety system and instrumentation areas.

  • Produce technical reports clearly identifying the preferred course of action and why after analysis of legacy designs.

  • Ensure all work is carried out ethically, safely, and in accordance with relevant standards and best practice within the nuclear industry.

  • Perform any other relevant duties as and when required.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrate skill and project experience in electronics/electrical systems.

  • Demonstrable ability in electrical work and/or analogue and digital electronics using conventional logic families and programmable logic.

  • Hold an appropriate degree in an electrical or electronic field.

  • DOORS knowledge is an advantage.

  • Capable of producing good oral and written communications.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience in electronics equipment design or maintenance in a regulated industry.

Essential Functions:
  • Flexibility to travel within the UK.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance up to SC level.
