Job Description

As a Graduate Electronics Engineer at Ultra, you will play a key role in designing and developing cutting-edge electronic systems that meet the complex safety challenges of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to agree on the optimal solution for cost, timescale, and ease of implementation.
  • Contribute to the establishment of multiple customer solutions, leveraging your expertise in electronics and electrical systems.
  • Perform detailed analysis of existing equipment to identify requirements for replacement or refurbishment, ensuring seamless integration with our safety systems.
  • Liaise with suppliers to secure the supply and support of third-party equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Carry out specified design and development work, applying your knowledge of electronics and electrical systems to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of equipment on customer sites, ensuring smooth execution and minimal downtime.
  • Promote good customer relationships by presenting a professional engineering approach, fostering trust and confidence in our services.
  • Contribute to the development of the engineering team's capabilities, sharing your individual skills and determination to drive excellence.
  • Develop your personal engineering capability across the safety system and instrumentation areas, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Produce technical reports that clearly outline the preferred course of action and rationale, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Adhere to industry standards and best practices, ensuring all work is carried out ethically, safely, and in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Perform other relevant duties as required, contributing to the success of the team and the company.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate expertise in electronics and electrical systems, with a strong understanding of analog and digital electronics.
  • Hold an appropriate degree in an electrical or electronic field, with a focus on electronics and electrical systems.
  • Have experience in electronics equipment design or maintenance, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Be capable of producing clear, concise oral and written communications, with a strong focus on technical documentation.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in electronics equipment design or maintenance in a regulated industry.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to travel within the UK for work-related purposes.
  • Capacity to obtain security clearance up to SC level, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
