Construction Project Coordinator

This position offers a unique opportunity for a Construction Project Coordinator at Grwp Llandrillo Menai (GLlM).
As one of the leading college groups in the UK, spanning across four counties in North Wales, GLLM is embarking on an ambitious capital programme, projected to be valued at approximately £90M over the forthcoming years. We are seeking a dedicated, skilled, and passionate individual to become a vital part of our strategic capital projects team.
The ideal candidate will assist the Director and senior team members, taking charge of the implementation of the GLLM project control framework. This includes overseeing project initiation, managing change control, coordinating ongoing streams, facilitating handovers, and ensuring project closures, while collaborating closely with each project's clerk of works.
A solid understanding of construction site safety regulations is essential, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Holding a PRINCE2 practitioner certification is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Role
The primary focus will be on managing structured project management processes that govern individual projects within the overall programme, ensuring that projects are initiated, developed, delivered, and closed effectively.
2. Project Control Framework Management
The post holder will oversee the application of the GLLM project control framework and PRINCE2 toolbox, which includes:
- a. Project Initiation
Developing Project Proposal Documents (PP) and Project Initiation Documents (PID) to ensure clear direction and scope control is established and maintained throughout.
- b. Roles, Responsibilities, and Decision Rights
Configuring Roles & Responsibilities documents that incorporate Decision Making rights and specific Terms of Reference (ToR) for each Project Board and User Group.
- c. Risks, Issues, Change Control, and Project Documentation
Managing project control documents and actively tracking all open Risks and management actions.
- d. Meetings and Summary Actions
Summarizing meetings, decisions, and actions on standardized documents.
- e. Information and Reporting
Preparing standardized management information to ensure clear decision-making information is available.
3. Ingoing Streams and Handover Plan
The post holder will collaborate with users to develop a practical Ingoing Minor Streams and Handover Plan, ensuring a smooth transition from project completion to business-as-usual operations.
4. Project Closure
Supporting the Director in maintaining a Lessons-Learnt Log and producing a comprehensive Lessons-Learnt Report and Project Closure Report upon project completion.
5. Health & Safety Oversight
Ensuring that well-planned and effective Health & Safety arrangements are in place throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Representation and Negotiation
The post holder will represent the Director in discussions with various stakeholders, including Managers and external third-party representatives.
7. Additional Duties
Carrying out other responsibilities as required, appropriate to the level and nature of the position.
