Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Act administrator to join our Mental Health Law Team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will provide support to nursing and medical staff, patients, and their carers to ensure compliance with legislative and procedural processes required by the Mental Health Act.

The post holder will be responsible for scrutinising Mental Health Act paperwork, reminding clinicians of actions required by the act, and arranging mental health Tribunals and internal Hospital Managers hearings.

Main Duties

  • Scrutinise Mental Health Act paperwork in accordance with the Mental Health Act legislation and Code of Practice.
  • Ensure all paperwork is received in a timely manner, collecting paperwork and processing this within tight time constraints.
  • Remind clinicians of actions required by the act, such as completion of treatment certificates.
  • Arrange mental health Tribunals and internal Hospital Managers hearings.
  • Impute all relevant information in the patient's clinical records.
  • Take part and support meetings as required.
