About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Signalling Principles Designer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our rail Signalling Business, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of transportation design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide design delivery support throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to completion.
  • Prepare and produce railway signalling designs, specifications, and reports, applying first principles as required.
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with company procedures, contractual and statutory requirements.
  • Liaise and meet with clients, stakeholders, and external railway contractors.
  • Mentor, support, and develop junior staff.
  • Engage in technical liaison with other team disciplines, departments, and externally with the wider AtkinsRéalis organisation.
Requirements
  • Hold a current IRSE Signalling Principles Designer Licence.
  • Mainline signalling design experience, including knowledge of UK railway standards, design processes, and procedures.
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to delivering signalling designs to the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Proficient in the use of industry-standard CAD packages and signalling design tools.
  • Preferred individuals in possession of a PTS (Personal Track Safety) certificate.
