Job Summary:

Venn Group's specialist legal team is seeking a highly skilled Locum Adult Social Care Paralegal to join a Public Sector Organisation in the Midlands. This assignment will be for an initial period of 3 months, subject to possible extension, on a full-time basis. The role offers a predominantly remote working arrangement with some office presence required on occasion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal, clerical, and administrative support to the Social Care team of Solicitors and Fee Earners.
  • Undertake various Adult protection related activities under the designation of the Solicitors.
  • Case management, concerning court of protection and deprivation of liberty matters.
  • Day-to-day liaisons with Social Care teams, courts, external partners, private practitioners, and other bodies.
  • Conduct legal research using primary and secondary sources and present findings and conclusions.
  • Collate evidence, prepare court applications, and continue document management of court cases.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as preparing bundles, updating, and delivering them to court and parties.
  • Engage in direct contact with the legal fraternity, including Judges, Barristers, and Solicitors.
  • Attend court hearings in support of an Advocate.
  • Participate in remote hearings with Counsel as required.

Requirements:

Candidates must have recent experience within Adult Social Care Law in either a Local Government or Private Practice setting. An hourly rate of up to £25 per hour Umbrella will be considered for this position dependent upon experience.
