About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Radiopharmacy Technical Officer to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our Radiopharmacy team, you will play a crucial role in the aseptic preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake technical duties in the aseptic preparation of radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
  • Pre-manufacturing preparation and final product checking will also be an essential part of this role.
  • Specialist cleaning of aseptic production facilities and clinical areas used for radionuclide therapies.
  • Organisation of consumable items and performance of radiopharmaceutical quality control tests.
  • Working safely with radioactive materials.

Requirements

  • Vocational Qualification Level 3 or equivalent, plus additional theoretical or applied training in a specific discipline to diploma equivalent level or HNC/HND or equivalent in a science subject.
  • GSCE or AS Level or A Level in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • Previous experience of working within a technical or laboratory service to GMP or GLP guidelines, Radiopharmacy, aseptics, manufacturing, pharmaceutical industry, university laboratory, or microbiology laboratory.
  • Proven experience of good performance in previous posts.

Working Hours

The successful candidate will be required to work between the hours of 05:00 and 17:00, with the occasional change at short notice to meet the needs of the service. Typical working pattern is 06:00 to 14:30, Monday to Friday.
