About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialist Support Worker to join our Mental Health service in Ealing. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 18-25 who have experienced mental health-related hospital admissions to gain and develop skills for future independent living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build trusting relationships with young people and create a positive atmosphere
  • Conduct holistic assessments and develop support plans to meet individual needs
  • Provide information, social inclusion, and vocational opportunities to support recovery and well-being
  • Support young people to access relevant services and empower them to self-manage their medication
  • Work collaboratively with external stakeholders to provide comprehensive support
  • Develop productive relationships with partner organisations to improve service outcomes
  • Adhere to Look Ahead's policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols
Requirements
  • Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent experience supporting young people or individuals with mental health challenges
  • Specialist knowledge relevant to supporting young people with mental health diagnoses
  • Ability to advocate for young people in different professional and community spaces
  • Cultural awareness and respect for diverse experiences and distress
