Job Summary

VMA GROUP is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Policy and Public Affairs to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in advancing and defending LGBTQ+ rights in the UK and worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of Stonewall's policy and advocacy work to advance and defend LGBTQ+ rights
  • Manage the Policy and Public Affairs team to deliver the charity's vision
  • Develop and implement effective policy positions, arguments, and outputs to build support for Stonewall's thought leadership work
  • Build and maintain key UK Government and political relationships aligned to Stonewall's policy priorities
  • Ensure the organization is contributing to the development of effective policy positions, arguments, and outputs
  • Support and develop teams in transition with an empathetic and inclusive approach
  • Role-model the charity's values and standards of behavior in everything you do
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience at a national level in a charity, membership organization, or similar
  • Successful delivery of impactful, public-facing campaigns
  • Strong understanding of how to use Government(s) to secure and deliver change
  • Ability to build and maintain key relationships with UK Government and political stakeholders
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective policy positions, arguments, and outputs
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to support and develop teams in transition
  • Ability to role-model the charity's values and standards of behavior
