Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Special Education Needs (SEN) teaching assistant to join our team at a mainstream primary school in the heart of Fulham, London.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting children with a variety of needs, working closely with the SENCO, other learning support assistants, and outside agencies/therapists.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4pm, term time only.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with special education needs in a mainstream primary school setting
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other learning support assistants to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Collaborate with outside agencies and therapists to ensure comprehensive support for children
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery to meet the needs of children with SEN
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children with SEN

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special education needs
  • Qualifications in teaching or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment
