About the Role

ViiV Healthcare is a leading global pharmaceutical company dedicated to advancing HIV treatment, care, and prevention. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director, Epidemiology & Real World Evidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute epidemiology and real-world evidence strategies to support the safety and effectiveness of our products.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify evidence needs and design and deliver appropriate studies.
  • Collaborate with academic partners, NGOs, and public health bodies to advance our understanding of HIV and develop effective treatments.
  • Lead the planning, documentation, and dissemination of epidemiology and real-world evidence strategies for multiple pipeline assets and development programs.
  • Negotiate research agendas and scopes of studies with regulatory agencies and present company positions on disease burden and drug effectiveness/safety at external meetings.
  • Differentiate ViiV Healthcare products from therapeutic alternatives by identifying opportunities in disease features and treatments.
  • Identify new opportunities, methods, or partnerships to meet ViiV Healthcare needs and create or select tools and methodologies to achieve strategic epidemiologic plans.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or DrPH or ScD in Epidemiology/Public Health with 3+ years of post-graduate experience in epidemiology.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, academia, or public health.
  • Experience in the practical application of epidemiologic methods.
  • Experience in cross-functional or matrix team leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience interacting and negotiating with regulatory agencies.
  • Research experience in the HIV/Infectious Diseases field.
  • Experience in conducting pharmaco-epidemiology studies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines/policies.
  • Demonstrated scientific leadership through conference presentations and publications in scientific journals.
  • Experience with real-world evidence projects, including working with electronic health records, claims data, and/or registries.
  • Ability to balance multiple and complex tasks and effectively perform in a matrix environment.
