About the Opportunity:
The University of Edinburgh's Technology Transfer Team is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to support translational activities across various schools and colleges. As a Technology Transfer Intern, you will assist in identifying and assessing intellectual property, conducting market analysis, and developing commercialization strategies.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the identification and assessment of intellectual property, including due diligence and patentability evaluation.
- Conduct market analysis and generate marketing materials to attract new industrial partners.
- Develop and implement commercialization strategies to support the transfer of technologies from academia to industry.
- Collaborate with academic staff and industry partners to advance translational science and technology transfer.
Requirements:
- Strong technical background in life/medical sciences, physical sciences, engineering, or business disciplines.
- Hands-on experience in areas such as synthetic biology, chemical biology, biotechnology, diagnostics, drug discovery, medical imaging, therapeutics, regenerative medicine, stem cell biology, digital communications, software, renewable energy, microelectronic devices, big data, sensors, new materials, process engineering, chemical engineering, catalysts, petrochemicals, animal and human health/wellbeing/nutrition, or art or business copyright licensing.
- Strong interest in translational science, intellectual property, and technology transfer.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with academic staff and industry partners.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
