Procurement Category Buyer - Indirect and Tech

Talent Drive is excited to partner with a globally renowned retail brand to find a Procurement Category Buyer to join their growing team. This role will focus on Indirect and Tech categories, offering a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the business.

The Procurement team is a CIPS award-winning function that values curiosity, resilience, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. As a Buyer, you will have the autonomy to negotiate with suppliers, build strong relationships, and manage the end-to-end execution of the sourcing process.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Execute commercial and sourcing strategies for assigned categories or subcategories.
  2. Collaborate with Procurement Managers to develop complex commercial strategies and provide analytical and research support.
  3. Conduct sourcing activities such as supplier appraisal and selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  4. Develop and execute category plans, gaining understanding of internal and external supply markets, and influencing stakeholders to support your ideas.
  5. Manage key suppliers, ensuring effective partner relationships and successful contract transitions.
  6. Deliver commercial projects and adhere to procurement and supplier management policies.
Requirements:
  1. Experienced procurement professional with a strong understanding of procurement principles and techniques.
  2. Deep knowledge of your specific category or subcategories, with a good awareness of external supply markets, emerging trends, and potential risks.
  3. Expertise in negotiating with third parties and managing supplier relationships.
  4. Strong communication skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to build successful relationships with stakeholders.
  5. Experience of negotiating with 3rd parties, with a basic legal knowledge and some experience of contract negotiation.
What We Offer:

£45,000-£55,000 + 10% bonus + Competitive Benefits Package

2 days a week in your nearest office: London, Midlands or Manchester
