We are seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our Me Time Programme. In this position, you will be an integral member of the Me Time Team, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to assisting individuals across various community environments.
The Me Time initiative is Mencap's social inclusion, leisure, and community-oriented programme. It aims to empower individuals with learning disabilities to enhance their skills and confidence, broaden their social networks, and achieve full participation in their local communities.
This programme offers diverse support, collaborating with individuals through engaging activities and facilitating access to local opportunities.
Individuals with learning disabilities guide the activities they wish to pursue, such as arts & crafts, gardening, drama, sports, cooking & baking, and digital skills. This approach provides everyone with the chance to acquire and refine new skills, forge and sustain friendships, and become active members of a vibrant local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute actively and positively as a colleague by proposing ideas and solutions to enhance both individual and team performance.
- Ensure that the plans developed for the individuals we support are centered around their needs, with their full involvement in all aspects of the planning and review process.
- Exhibit creativity, dynamism, and adaptability in response to potential challenges related to the needs of the individuals we support.
- Complete all documentation requirements promptly, ensuring high-quality reporting and record-keeping.
- Communicate with the individuals we support with dignity and respect at all times.
- Build rapport not only with the individuals we support but also with the broader community, including family members.
- Work in a manner that empowers the individuals supported to make choices and decisions, facilitating their access to new opportunities aligned with their desired lifestyles.
