**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Refuge Practitioner to join our team at Red Snapper Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct support and assistance to women and children experiencing domestic abuse, maximizing their physical, mental, and social wellbeing.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high-quality support and assistance to women and children experiencing domestic abuse, ensuring a safe and confidential environment.
  2. Assist the Senior Services Manager in the day-to-day running of the supported refuge accommodation, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  3. Identify and develop support strategies to meet the needs of women and children affected by domestic abuse, seeking support across services.
  4. Provide high-quality case work, 1:2:1 support, and advice to victims/survivors who are/have experienced domestic abuse.
  5. Provide safety planning, undertake regular risk and needs assessments.
  6. Work with women to identify their 'support' needs and incorporate these into women's Individual Support Plans.
  7. Develop and deliver a range of support services to women and their children, including referrals into the community team.

Person Specification:

  1. Good general level of education.
  2. Good knowledge of domestic abuse issues and the statutory framework.
  3. Good understanding of referrals processes.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good relationships with colleagues, volunteers, outside agencies, and users of the service.
  5. Ability to speak at least one of the following languages: Urdu, Hindi, Mirpuri, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali, Farzi, Pushtu, or African languages (in particular, Somali) is desirable.

**Requirements:**

A current driving license and access to a vehicle are required for this role.

**DBS Check:** The role is subject to a DBS check at the relevant level.
