Position Overview

Kier Professional Services (KPS) is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to enhance our dynamic team.

KPS operates as the engineering consultancy arm of Kier Group, delivering innovative design solutions, expert technical guidance, and comprehensive engineering support across various sectors.

With a portfolio of over 2,000 designs annually, we are recognized as one of the UK's foremost Temporary Works designers. Our team of over 100 Temporary Works engineers possesses extensive expertise in the design and verification of Temporary Works for projects of varying scales and complexities.

Location: Loughton, London

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Structural Engineer at KPS, you will collaborate closely with project teams to facilitate the delivery of a diverse array of civil and structural services, both in Temporary and Permanent Works. Your role will also involve contributing to the execution of more intricate services by providing safe and practical solutions.

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Design and verification of Permanent and Temporary Works, utilizing various materials, and integrating with Permanent Works design as necessary.
  • Providing alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance Kier's reputation.
  • Supporting tender stages and bid processes, emphasizing buildability, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Conducting technical assessments and reviews of third-party designs to ensure compliance with project briefs and client requirements.
  • Delivering alternative solutions and value engineering to strengthen Kier's competitive edge.
  • Mentoring and managing junior team members within KPS.

Candidate Profile

This position is ideal for you if:

  • You are a chartered engineer or are on the path to becoming chartered.
  • You possess an interest in or experience with Permanent and Temporary Works Design.
  • You hold a valid UK driving license.
