Infection Control Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Infection Control Nurse to join our team at The Practice Plus Group Hospital Birmingham. As a key member of our infection control team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective coordination, delivery, and reporting of infection control and quality assurance initiatives within the hospital.
Your primary responsibility will be to manage all mandatory, statutory, and other infection control-related training activities. This will involve developing and delivering standard programs, coordinating regulatory registers, and managing external providers as necessary to ensure the hospital meets its statutory training responsibilities for its staff.
You will work closely with our infection control team to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based solutions to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement
- Provide training and education to staff on infection control best practices
- Collaborate with external providers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitor and report on infection control metrics and trends
Requirements:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Proven experience in infection control and quality assurance
- Strong knowledge of infection control policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Hours: 22.5 hours per week, 3 days a week
