Job Opportunity: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Derbyshire County Council. As a key member of our primary education team, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning in a primary school setting, working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality education.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized learning plans to meet the needs of students with diverse learning requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, helping them to overcome barriers to their learning and achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to the creation and delivery of engaging and inclusive lesson plans, promoting a love of learning in our students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective behavior management strategies, promoting a positive and respectful learning environment.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices in teaching and learning to ensure the highest standards of education.

Requirements:

  • NVQ 4 or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, with a commitment to achieving HLTA status within 12 months.
  • Proven experience in supporting teaching and learning in a primary school setting, with a focus on delivering high-quality education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A commitment to raising standards of achievement and promoting a culture of excellence in education.
  • A good understanding of teaching English as an additional language and the ability to adapt to the needs of students with diverse linguistic backgrounds.
  • The ability to reflect on and develop your own practice, as well as that of others, to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
