About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Construction Manager to join our team at SSEN Transmission. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for managing the construction, refurbishment, and upgrading of transmission overhead line assets, ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

The successful candidate will have a strong engineering and construction knowledge, including safety and CDM regulations, and will have experience in site management of complex works in construction, utilities, or electrical installation. You will be a leader on site, championing an effective and collaborative safety culture, and will develop positive relationships with contractors, suppliers, and the community.

This is a site-based role, requiring a full current driving license, and you will be based in the east of Scotland, with a site office in Edzell, Angus. You will represent the SSEN Transmission business on-site, being the key point of contact for the project.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the construction, refurbishment, and upgrading of transmission overhead line assets, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements, including statutory and legal obligations, health and safety, and quality standards.
  2. Interact proactively with contractors and the SSEN Operations team to ensure the works are delivered to the project programme, with appropriate resource levels and in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  3. Ensure site activities comply with planning consents and SHE legislation, and prepare and submit detailed reports and KPIs to the Project Manager.
  4. Develop effective relationships with contractors, suppliers, and the community, promoting a collaborative safety culture.
