About the Role:

Venn Group is collaborating with VisitEngland & VisitBritain to find a dedicated Applications Support Manager to enhance their Business Services/Technology team.

VisitEngland & VisitBritain are pivotal in promoting tourism across the UK and fostering growth within the tourism industry.

The Applications Support Manager will oversee the development and maintenance of business applications, coordinating with suppliers and IT colleagues to ensure a reliable service is established. This role involves leading a small team of Application Engineers to deliver a customer-centric service for colleagues both in the UK and internationally.

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: up to £45k per annum

Hybrid Working: Flexible policy

Location: London or Birmingham offices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small team of application/system engineers, ensuring they prioritize and deliver ongoing enhancements to organizational applications.
  • Provide third-line support for application issues escalated from the service desk.
  • Monitor the performance of the Applications Team, reporting to internal stakeholders through SLAs and KPIs.
  • Facilitate the execution of critical projects that align with the organization’s technology, digital, and data objectives.
  • Manage documentation, including application data standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Service Delivery Manager to implement the technology vision and strategy for business applications.
  • Support a unified approach to vendor management of IT suppliers in partnership with procurement colleagues.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Expertise in ITIL (v3 or v4).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies (SharePoint, Azure, Windows).
  • SQL proficiency for scripting and reporting purposes.
  • Proven experience in a senior application support or analyst capacity.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Exceptional stakeholder communication and relationship management skills.
  • Successful history of delivering projects within budget and on schedule.
