Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Flight Checker to join our team at DO & CO Airline Catering. As a Flight Checker, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of prepared meals for all classes of flights.
Key Responsibilities- Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks on prepared meals to ensure they meet the specified standards and comply with menu cards.
- Special Requests: Verify and process special meal requests, including last-minute requests for additional meals, aircraft changes, and return catering.
- Discrepancies: Report any discrepancies in labeling or paperwork to the Shift Manager.
- Final Checks: Perform final quality and quantity checks on packed flights to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless operations and maintain a positive work environment.
- Physical Demands: Work in a chilled environment, lifting, bending, and stretching as required.
- Initiative: Work independently, taking initiative to resolve problems and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Reporting: Provide hourly status updates to managers on tasks and progress.
- Variety: Work on different customer assignments each day, requiring adaptability and flexibility.
- Relationships: Build and maintain excellent working relationships with department heads and other team members to ensure a positive and professional service.
- Health and Safety: Carry out all procedures in a safe manner, adhering to Health and Safety responsibilities.
- Chilled Environment: Ability to work in a chilled environment.
- Basic Hygiene: Working knowledge of basic hygiene practices.
- Production Experience: Ideally, some experience in a production, manufacturing, or stores environment.
- Numerical and Checking Skills: Basic numerical and checking skills are essential for this role.
- Communication: Basic written and verbal English skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Pressure: Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Physical Skills: Physical skills such as movement, coordination, and dexterity.
- Teamwork: Enjoy working with other people and building strong relationships.
- Food Safety: Basic understanding of Food Safety, with a willingness to attend training to achieve Level 2 Food Safety.
- Problem-Solving: Problem-solving mentality and ability to influence different departments to suggest, implement, and track solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and data-driven approach.
- Leadership: Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve their best.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in a similar role or experience within the fresh food industry related sector.
- Reporting: Excellent working knowledge of reporting.
