Job Title: Asset Change and Safety Manager

AWE PLC is seeking a highly skilled Asset Change and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on safety and compliance matters, ensuring that our operations are conducted in a safe and responsible manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement safety strategies and policies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Manage and coordinate asset change requests, ensuring that they are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide regular performance data and reports to stakeholders, highlighting areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and maintain awareness of the latest industry health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Ensure that company strategies, policies, and management system requirements for conventional health and safety are communicated and understood.
  • Produce health and safety documentation, including risk assessments and safety procedures.
  • Manage and ensure that all safety documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development of local ESH Improvement Plans, focusing on culture, communications, and other key areas.
  • Promote learning and improvement through operational briefings, toolbox talks, and presentations.
  • Deliver safety sessions to apprentices and staff, ensuring that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their roles safely and effectively.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 qualification in occupational health and safety, such as NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH Certificate.
  • Accredited risk and COSHH assessor.
  • Self-confidence to challenge established processes and activities.
  • Excellent planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple asset change requests and cross-functional engagement.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to develop internal and external relationships and positively influence business change requirements.
  • Ability to solve complex asset/facility/ESH-related problems, applying own delivery skills with consideration for implications to other areas.
  • Safety advisor experience.
  • Investigation and inspection techniques.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and ACM training.
