Position Overview

Application Security Engineer (Akamai WAF & GitLab)

This role offers a unique opportunity to advance your career as an Application Security Engineer within a leading global FinTech organization on a fixed-term contract.

As an Application Security Engineer, you will be part of a specialized team that collaborates closely with software development, infrastructure, and business units to proactively identify and mitigate potential security risks throughout the development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the GitLab development pipeline, ensuring that security practices are integrated into a practical shift-left approach; configuring WAF and security measures; promoting security awareness across the organization; and collaborating with development and architecture teams to model threats and implement security best practices.

Work Environment:

This position offers a flexible work arrangement, allowing for a combination of remote work and office presence. When in the office, you will be part of a vibrant team atmosphere with a casual dress code and access to various amenities.

Candidate Profile:

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Application Security.
  • Proficient in GitLab pipelines and Akamai security solutions.
  • Experience in threat modeling and automated security testing.
  • Ability to read and understand software development languages such as Java and JavaScript.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
