Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our finance function, you will be responsible for leading the finance team and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present financial reports to the board of directors, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop and implement financial models to forecast revenue and expenses, and to analyze business performance.
  • Manage the accounting team, including supervising staff, setting goals and objectives, and providing training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and laws, including tax laws and accounting standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the senior leadership team, including the CEO and CFO.
  • Manage the company's financial planning and budgeting process, including developing and implementing financial plans and budgets.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures, including accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience with financial planning and budgeting, including financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and laws, including tax laws and accounting standards.
