Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic senior nurse to join our team as a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse Chemotherapy. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery of high-quality patient care in our chemotherapy day unit.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the team to ensure patients receive timely and effective treatment
  • Assess patients for chemotherapy and ensure their physical condition and blood parameters are satisfactory
  • Administer and dispose of intravenous and chemotherapy safely in accordance with Trust and National Guidelines
  • Provide treatment and side effects information to patients and their families
  • Provide one-to-one and telephone advice to patients and their families regarding treatment side effects and management
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and relationships with multidisciplinary teams, both internal and external

Person Specification
  • Registered nurse Part 1
  • 1st level degree or working towards
  • Administration of chemotherapy course or completion of SACT passport
