About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Nurse to join our team as a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse Chemotherapy at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the team to ensure patients receive timely and high-quality care.
  • Assess patients for chemotherapy and ensure their physical condition and blood parameters are satisfactory for treatment.
  • Administer and dispose of intravenous and chemotherapy safely in accordance with Trust and National Guidelines.
  • Provide treatment and side effects information to patients and their families, ensuring informed consent and optimal care.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and relationships with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
  • Participate in planning and organizational activities, including duty rotas and resource management.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and services, ensuring adherence to Trust policies and NMC Codes of Practice.
Requirements
  • Registered nurse Part 1
  • 1st level degree or working towards
  • Administration of chemotherapy course or completion of SACT passport
  • Proven post-registration experience at band 5
  • Proven clinical experience of working in clinical haematology/oncology nursing delivering chemotherapy
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-registration qualification in relevant speciality (palliative care/Oncology/Chemotherapy)
  • Recognised NMC teaching and assessing qualification
  • Advanced communication course training
  • Evidence of management/leadership skills and autonomous practice
  • Evidence of teaching both formal and informal
