Job Title: Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced consultant to join our team as a Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine. This is a 10PA post in the respiratory service to cover the 12-month maternity leave of an existing consultant.

About the Role

The appointee will be responsible for delivering outpatient clinics and service development, working collaboratively with colleagues and providing clinical leadership to the wider team. The consultant whose maternity leave the appointee is covering currently leads on Interstitial Lung Disease and supports the Severe Asthma Service, led by Prof Saralaya.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care and management in respiratory medicine
  • Participate in the student teaching rota and administrative duties associated with patient care
  • Contribute to the running of the department in collaboration with consultant colleagues
  • Communicate effectively with local practitioners and support nursing and other AHP members of the team
Person Specification
  • Evidence of completing a period of approved training in Respiratory Medicine
  • Commitment to working cooperatively and collaboratively with other health professionals and organisations
  • Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors, and staff
