Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Facilities Technician to join our team at our Hemel Hempstead location. This part-time role involves completing basic maintenance tasks, conducting reactive repairs, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance work and reactive repairs to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
- Test fire alarms, emergency lighting, and conduct water temperature checks to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Inspect ladders, grills, and diffusers, and address lighting issues and PAT test as needed to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the team to obtain quotes for remedial works and small projects, and supervise planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities of sub-contractors.
- Utilize a mobile work order tracking system for efficient task management, and undertake any other ad hoc tasks as required by the Key Account Manager or Facilities Coordinator.

Requirements
- Desirable: Qualification in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC maintenance.
- Willingness to learn and understand statutory compliance requirements in a building fabric environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer work for operating a mobile work order tracking system.

Qualifications or Required Experience
- Desirable: Electrical/Mechanical experience.
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about various systems: Fire alarms, AHUs, Heating and Cooling, Shutters and doors, Lifts and cranes, Pressure systems, Humidifiers and Dehumidifiers, Lightning protection, Compressed Air, Expansion Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Leak Detection systems, Uninterrupted Power Supplies, Bus bars, Three-phase and gas plant.
