An exciting position has opened up within our growing Housing Landlord Services team for a Housing Maintenance & Contracts Manager. Following our ambitious new build initiatives, we are set to deliver a significant number of private rented and affordable housing units, all managed by our expanding internal Housing Landlord Service.

Housing remains the Council's foremost priority, backed by strong political and operational support, ensuring the success of this vital service area, which is integral to our Corporate Plan.

Your Responsibilities

Collaborating closely with the Head of Housing and other service managers, your role will be pivotal in establishing our housing property services. This is a remarkable opportunity for a seasoned repairs, compliance, and contracts manager to influence the development of the Council's housing service, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

You will oversee the provision of high-quality repairs and maintenance services for our tenants, which includes responsive and planned repairs, void management, and asset oversight. Your focus will be on ensuring all properties comply with statutory building regulations and that tenant-focused repairs are executed effectively and efficiently.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in applying relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards related to your responsibilities
  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams
  • A strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
  • The capability to design and implement services and partnerships
  • The ability to work autonomously while managing multiple priorities
