This is a remarkable opportunity to become a vital member of our pharmacy team at a senior level. We are seeking a seasoned pharmacist to lead the clinical pharmacy initiatives within the Surgical Division, specifically focusing on the Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Theatres and Critical Care (TACC) Care Groups.

Exceptional communication skills are essential.
Compliance with legal and professional standards, as well as adherence to national and regional guidelines, is a must.
You will provide guidance to drug budget managers and financial stakeholders to ensure the economical use of medications and the achievement of Cost Improvement Plans.
Offering high-level pharmaceutical support, advice, and information to medical, nursing, and other healthcare professionals in the designated specialist area is a key responsibility.
Engagement in research and development within the pharmacy service and contributing to the dissemination of findings is encouraged.
Lead clinical audits in the designated area as part of a multidisciplinary audit initiative and support the broader pharmacy service audit strategy.
Main Responsibilities:
Develop and implement pathways between the pharmacy service and primary care partners.
Participate in delivering a comprehensive pharmaceutical service to the Surgical Division and associated organizations.
Ensure ongoing compliance with legal and professional standards.
Oversee the provision of a high-quality, patient-focused service by the pharmacy team in the designated area, while supporting colleagues in broader service delivery.
Assist drug budget holders and financial stakeholders to promote the effective use of medications and the realization of Cost Improvement Plans.
Contribute to the strategic advancement of pharmacy services across the organization.
Provide expert pharmaceutical support, advice, and information to healthcare professionals involved in clinical care.

The Pharmacy Service operates across multiple acute clinical divisions and community services. Candidates should demonstrate substantial experience in managing a clinical pharmacy service. The successful applicant will be an integral member of the Pharmacy Team, collaborating closely with stakeholders within the pharmacy and surgical divisions.
Applicants must demonstrate their ability to contribute to the strategic objectives of the Pharmacy Service, aligned with the overall organizational goals, while adhering to financial constraints and achieving agreed-upon cost improvement targets.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Master's Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent)
- Completion of a one-year pre-registration program
- Current UK professional registration as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy diploma or equivalent advanced experience
Desirable:
- Independent Prescriber qualification

- Demonstrated understanding of NHS operations, including prescribing and medicines management
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly word processing, spreadsheets, email, and clinical systems
- Significant experience in a surgical setting
- Experience in engaging with patients, contractors, and stakeholders
- Experience in providing prescribing and medicines management guidance
