Lead Design Engineer for Control and Instrumentation Systems

Job Summary
iO Associates - UK/EU is seeking a highly skilled Principal Control and Instrumentation Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring junior engineers in the design and implementation of control and instrumentation systems for clean energy generation and distribution solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement control philosophies, technical submittals, and commissioning documentation for complex projects.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers in the design and implementation of control and instrumentation systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical robustness and compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in the development of project documentation, including descriptions of operation, commissioning, and operation & maintenance documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in control and instrumentation design for energy generation and distribution projects.
- Strong knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems, BMS, and control system protocols (Modbus, MBUS, BACnet, PROFINET, Ethernet, etc.).
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide junior engineers.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
