About the Role
The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our Critical Care team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the assessment of care needs and delivery of planned care under delegation and direction of the registered nurse or Nurse Associate.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to the assessment of care needs and delivery of planned care under delegation and direction of the registered nurse or Nurse Associate.
- Record and document physiological observations and changes to patients' clinical condition, ECG, supporting therapy and rehab practices, and undertake vena-puncture.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Participate in the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring patient-centered care and promoting independence.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
- Participate in the training and development of junior staff, promoting a culture of learning and growth.
Requirements
- Experience of working within the acute setting, preferably in Critical Care.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
