Role Responsibilities

As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents through effective procurement strategies. Your responsibilities will include:

  • High-Value Procurement Management - Oversee comprehensive procurement processes for high-value contracts ranging from £200,000 to £25,000,000, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Mid-Value Procurement Oversight - Manage mid-value procurement activities exceeding £25,000, ensuring adherence to legislative requirements.
  • Support for Low-Value Procurements - Provide guidance and assistance for low-value procurement processes under £25,000.
  • Strategic Procurement Development - Collaborate in the formulation and execution of procurement strategies across various operations.
  • Market Research and Engagement - Conduct thorough market analysis and engage with suppliers to foster innovation and knowledge sharing.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration - Build and maintain relationships with residents, internal teams, suppliers, and external partners to ensure effective risk management.
  • Maintain and update the strategic procurement pipeline.
  • Identify and address compliance and risk management issues.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Educational Qualifications - A degree in procurement, finance, business, or a related discipline, with progress towards CIPS Level 6 or MCIPS certification.
  • Public Sector Procurement Expertise - A solid understanding of public sector procurement processes, with at least three years of relevant experience.
  • Contract Management Skills - Proven ability to manage contracts and enhance supplier performance.
  • Diverse Procurement Experience - Experience across various procurement categories, including facilities management, repairs, and administrative solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency - Familiarity with e-procurement systems and P2P platforms.
