Mechanical Package Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Package Engineer to join our team at Vulcain Engineering - UK. As a key member of our Technical Communities, you will play a crucial role in the development of Mechanical designs for our Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C.
Key Responsibilities- Lead activities in developing Mechanical designs within project budgets and timelines.
- Serve as liaison for inter-discipline engineering involved in the project.
- Accountable for overall discipline-related activities for successful project completion.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartership status or actively undergoing the process for attaining Chartership through a recognized international body.
- Understanding of EPR or general PWR design.
- Knowledge and experience in Nuclear Mechanical Equipment Design.
- Understanding of Equipment interfaces (safety case, systems engineering, CDM).
- Contract management and documentary surveillance experience.
- Capable of producing technical specifications, including a sound understanding of nuclear processing regulations.
- Understanding of nuclear power generation and the specialities of nuclear technology.
- Experience in the design of packages in both FEED and EPC environments.
- Appreciation of the technicalities of large nuclear projects and the precautions required when designing them.
- Experience on the design/procurement of mechanical equipment such as process & pressure equipment, rotating equipment, handling equipment, gas measuring devices, liquid heating systems, antifoaming skids, gloveboxes, fluid and waste processing systems, and pressure compliance systems.

In the absence of a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, significant qualifications in an Engineering field with necessary work experience will be considered.
Due to the nature of the work, role holders will be required to undergo a Basic Security clearance (BPSS) and must have Permanent Independent Right to Work in the UK.
