Job Title: Second Charge Underwriter

About the Role:

This opportunity is ideal for an underwriter with prior experience in a brokerage or packaging setting, seeking to refine their skills within a mortgage lending environment. Seasoned 2nd charge underwriters from lending institutions will find this position appealing, particularly if they aspire to grow into leadership roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter and update borrower data on the lending platform.
  • Ensure all aspects of the loans are recorded accurately on the CRM and meet underwriting guidelines.
  • Assess the mortgage application to ensure all aspects of our underwriting criteria are met.
  • Ensure all underwriting is in line with Company policy and within regulation.
  • Ensure that all cases are Underwritten within the group's Risk appetite.
  • Work experience with a mortgage broker, packager or lender, underwriting or packaging residential or second charge applications.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of underwriting guidelines and regulations.
  • Experience with CRM systems and lending platforms.
