Teaching Assistants Required at a Forward-Thinking SEN School

We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Teaching Assistants at a forward-thinking SEN school near Horsham. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with varying special educational needs, including those with challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs in a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom activities and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
  • Provide personal care when necessary, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene support.
  • Foster a nurturing and supportive atmosphere to encourage student engagement and participation.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver comprehensive care and education.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to manage and positively respond to challenging behaviour.
  • Willingness to provide personal care as needed.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
