Job Overview

Position: Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Cheltenham

Compensation: £00 per hour via umbrella (Inside IR35)

Contract Length: 12-month engagement

As a vital contributor to our Electrical Power Distribution division within the aerospace sector, you will collaborate with a dynamic and diverse team to design and develop advanced power distribution systems for large civil aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize your electrical expertise to manage requirements, design, verify, and test electrical systems.
  • Create various engineering documentation including electrical schematics, bills of materials, hardware requirements, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Address complex hardware engineering challenges.
  • Leverage your understanding of the product development lifecycle to provide technical assistance to the team and broader organization (including manufacturing and laboratory teams).
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver products on time and within budget.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • Familiarity with electrical product design and development processes, including design for manufacture and testing methodologies.
  • Experience in conducting root cause analysis for hardware issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Desired Attributes

  • Knowledge of power switching and control circuitry technologies.
  • Experience with the mechanical design of electrical packaging.
  • Understanding of Electrical Wiring Installation System (EWIS) regulations.
  • Proficiency in using Mentor Capital or similar schematic electrical design tools.
  • Awareness of regulatory and safety standards for safety-critical products, ideally gained in an avionics or related environment.
