Key Responsibilities

General Management

  • Oversee the Technical department, focusing on Development & Innovation, Quality, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Technical to set and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Drive strategic Continuous Improvement initiatives specific to the site.
  • Build relationships across various sites to promote cost-saving strategies.
  • Maintain existing quality standards and manage attendance systems.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

  • Identify and implement improvement activities throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to cultivate a continuous improvement environment.
  • Lead workshops focused on LEAN/process improvements to generate innovative solutions.
  • Support efforts to enhance value and efficiency by simplifying business processes.
  • Establish a continuous improvement monitoring system to track trends and variations.
  • Develop and execute a 'best-in-class' continuous improvement strategy.
  • Manage change initiatives from identification through to successful project delivery.
  • Conduct thorough analyses to identify process change requirements.
  • Work with teams to create new support materials, including training and reporting enhancements.
  • Proactively monitor project risks and devise solutions to mitigate potential issues.
  • Ensure that project impacts and objectives are clearly defined and managed.
  • Establish coaching programs and oversee project execution.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess project success and areas for future improvement.

Quality Management

  • Administer the Quality Management System in accordance with industry standards to uphold ISO 9001 certification.
  • Assist operational teams in enhancing performance through a Continual Improvement Program.
  • Report on daily quality metrics and address any issues during production meetings.
  • Utilize analytical tools to identify key Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Engage with suppliers to resolve quality-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with the Brands Quality Manager to address and rectify quality issues.
  • Manage quality metrics in alignment with established KPIs.
  • Act as the primary contact for customer complaints.

Success Metrics

  • Transition to Lean Manufacturing practices across the organization.
  • Cross-functional teams successfully delivering improvement projects.
  • Implementation of cost-saving measures tracked year over year.
  • Increased training and development in continuous improvement methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background:

A Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related technical field is typically required. A Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline is preferred.

Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt), Lean Manufacturing, or Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) certification are desirable. Certification as a Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) or equivalent is advantageous.

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years in quality management, continuous improvement, or technical management roles, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering context.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) that resulted in measurable enhancements in quality, efficiency, or cost reductions.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving quality assurance and process improvements.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), including ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
    • Expertise in statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis (RCA), and other quality control techniques.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the ability to analyze and enhance production systems.
    • Advanced problem-solving skills utilizing methodologies such as DMAIC, PDCA, and FMEA.
    • Experience with technical documentation and compliance within the industry.

    Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
    • Exceptional communication and leadership skills for effective team management and stakeholder interaction.
    • Project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor multiple projects simultaneously.
